My Background
Deacon Dave Wulff retired from a career in law enforcement as a major with the Cary Police Department, but his retirement was not the end of his life of service. In 2020, Dave was ordained as a Roman Catholic deacon. Dave also founded a local charity called Saint Lawrence’s Treasure to assist the poor and needy in the Cary area. SLT would eventually expand to support causes all over the globe.
When the first Afghan scouts arrived in Durham, Saint Lawrence’s Treasure offered to set up a fund to help support the girls. Dave’s support has been critical in helping Afghan Scouts Durham establish itself as a meaningful concern.
Deacon Dave earned a bachelors degree at Campbell University and a master’s degree at Methodist University. Over the course of his career with Cary PD, Dave held every major leadership position. After he retired, he served as the Interim Police Chief with the Morrisville Police Department and a professor at Methodist University. Deacon Dave currently serves as the Catholic chaplain for the Cary PD and as Knight Commander with Star in the Equestrian Order of the Holy Sepulchre of Jerusalem.
