My Background
Kevin Sullivan is a paramedic, a husband, Catholic deacon, and HR guy. Educated by the Sisters of Mercy and the Jesuits, Kevin was formed as “a man for others.” This service attitude has taken many forms, but serving as a legal guardian for Afghan girls has been both the most challenging and the most rewarding.
Kevin is a founding member of Afghan Scouts Durham because he believes that the promise of the Full Faith & Credit Clause of the U.S. Constitution extends to our allies and their families. “My family fled fascism in Italy and poverty in Ireland. These girls grew up with the promise of safety and prosperity. If the Taliban have made that impossible, they deserve the same opportunities to make their way here in American that my family enjoyed two generations ago.”
Kevin is a graduate of Georgetown University (BA), University of Maryland (MS), and North Carolina State University (MBA). He holds a variety of professional certifications in public safety, emergency medicine, and human resources. Kevin’s professional work includes leadership roles in local government, large health systems, successful start-ups, and global corporations. He currently works as a Senior HR Director at Parexel International and was ordained as a Roman Catholic deacon for service in the Diocese of Raleigh in 2020.
