For Fifi and Tabby, education was never just about personal success—it was about possibility, progress, and creating opportunities for others. Both were at the top of their classes, ambitious and determined to make a difference in their communities. They didn’t just dream of a better future; they worked for it.

Fifi, a standout student and scout, knew firsthand how difficult it was to succeed without access to books. So, at just 14 years old, she built a library in her village, rallying her fellow scouts to make education more accessible for the children coming after her. Tabby, an exceptional singer, represented Afghanistan in cultural exchange programs abroad while excelling in science. With her sights set on neurosurgery, she envisioned a future where she could save lives and push the boundaries of medicine.

They were growing up in a world where women were gaining freedoms and opportunities, where hard work and talent could lead to something greater. Scouting, founded in Afghanistan by the Boy Scouts of America, nurtured their leadership and resilience, reinforcing the values their families had instilled in them—education as a path to empowerment, knowledge as a tool for change.

Then, in an instant, everything was taken from them. Their schools, their scouting communities, their futures—put on hold simply because they were young women who dared to learn. Leaving home wasn’t a choice they wanted to make, but it was the only way forward.

Now in the U.S., Fifi and Tabby have a second chance, but the barriers haven’t disappeared. College tuition, books, and living expenses stand between them and the futures they’ve worked so hard to build. After everything they’ve overcome, they shouldn’t have to fight for the right to continue their education.

Your support can help Fifi and Tabby take the next step. Every dollar brings them closer to the education they deserve and the future they’ve worked tirelessly for. Let’s stand with them and make sure their journey doesn’t end here.
